As we eagerly await season 7 of Doctor Who coming this autumn we can’t help but speculate what will happen this season. In the meantime we have plenty of other Doctor Who news to play around with. From the new companion to a comic book crossover there is plenty to discuss!

First up in the exciting news is the first promotional trailer for season 7. I am assuming when I say that the footage is most likely from the premiere episode of season 7, but I have also heard rumors from TG Daily that it is from the third episode. My favorite part of the trailer happens at the very end, with a Dalek’s eye poking out of the snow.

Pictures are now up from when the cast was shooting in Spain! Check them out!

Io9 also has an article about how much it would be to rent the Tardis for a year. Taking in all of the features of the Tardis they came up with a number of $23,930,385 or 15,140, 064 euros! They joke that with that much money James Bond could rent 76 Aston Martins. With a time share in all of the time and space that number seems maybe a bit on the low side, after all you’re getting a time machine, spaceship, crazy wardrobe, and hotel suite all in one!

According to ComBom.com there will be the standard 13 episodes for Season 7. They also mention that there will be no two part episodes, I am torn on that. I don’t necessarily love the two part episodes, although the “Silence in the Library” episodes happen to be two of my favorites, it will be different to not have any of them at all. It is also stated that The Doctor’s new companion will not be from Earth, this feels like it is going back to classic Doctor Who. The Doctor loves humans so much it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Lastly, Amy and Rory will live! I am really hoping that is the truth, I would hate to see anything bad happen to the cute couple.

Will Benedict Cumberbatch, best known as Sherlock in the hit BBC series Sherlock, play one of the most famous villians in the 50th anniversiary episode of Doctor Who? That’s the rumor going around right now! It would be amazing to see a crossover from the two brilliant shows. He would be playing The Master and boy would I love to see him portray that role! He has a pretty busy shooting schedule as of late, so hopefully he will find the time to bring life to The Master.

Are you a Whovian who also happens to be a Star Trek fan? If you are, you’re in luck as there is going to be a comic book crossover of the two! It is schedule to hit shelves in May and feature the Eleventh Doctor with Amy and Rory along with Captain Picard and crew. I for one can’t wait to check it out.

Lastly, the new companion has been named, Jenna-Louise Coleman. She is rumored to not be from Earth. Apparently the actress has told Steven Moffat that she doesn’t want to know anything about her character until she needs to. As of right now she doesn’t know her character’s name even, or how she meets The Doctor. As sad as I am to see Amy and Rory go, it will be interesting to shake things up with a new companion in the mix. The first promotional picture has been released finally, what do you think of her as the new companion?

That’s all I have for now Whovians! Keep checking this space for the latest Doctor Who news!

Hello Whovians! It's been a pretty exciting week for the Doctor Who Fandom! Between Gallifrey One: Network 23 ending, the start of filming for season 7, new actors, and even an "Inspector Spacetime" webseries spinoff, this week has been filled with wonderful news and pictures!

Gallifrey One: Network 23 just ended, it was the weekend of February 17th-19th. Gallifrey One is the annual North American Doctor Who Celebration that takes place in Los Angeles. They had a long list of amazing guests that featured cast and crew from just about every decade of the show. From panels to costumes to masquerades and more, this convention has it all for any Doctor Who fan!

Unfortunately I did not attend Gallifrey One but I heard that the programming was amazing! They had a live commentary of the episode "Let's Kill Hitler" with director Richard Senior and Gary Russell. Mark Sheppard and Toby Haynes did a live commentary of the episode "Day of the Moon." There was a "TV Movie Reunion Panel" where actors Paul McGann (the eighth doctor), Daphne Ashbrook (Grace Holloway), and Yee Jee Tso (Chang Lee) with producer Philip Segal talked about their experience and memories from filming the 1996 TV movie of Doctor Who. They even had an "Inspector Spacetime" panel, discussing the "Community" version of Doctor Who!

On Monday the 20th filming for the newest season of Doctor Who began on Church street at the Amy/Rory house! Resident of the house, Grace Jenkins, was tweeting about what it was like to have the set of Doctor Who in her house! Here are a few of her tweets:
-Living room has been cruelly disfigured so they can film Doctor Who in it
-Rory and Amy Pond's wedding photos are now on my living room wall and will be all weekend as they're filming Monday
-I just met Mr. Weasley
-What a lovely group of people #doctorwho
-Karen Gillan keeps playing my piano #doctorwho
-Blows my mind how many people it takes to make a tv show. I've counted at least 50. #doctorwho

Below are some photos from the first day of filming! Thanks to http://www.doctorwhonews.net/ for these photos!

The first guest star of the season has been announced and was on set Monday for the first day of filming, Mark WIllimas! He is well known for playing Arthur Weasley from the Harry Potter movies. It hasn't been released yet who his character is, so it should be interesting to find out!

The first promotional picture for season 7 has been released. This is such a happy looking picture! It makes me even more sad to think that this will be the last season for Karen and Arthur as we will be saying goodbye to Amy and Rory this season.

Finally, the spoof "Inspector Spacetime" from NBC's show "Community" will be getting it's own 6 episode webseries! The spoof has collected such a following after appearing on "Community" that there is now a full history (which is pretty extensive!) and a Tumblr page! Like I mentioned before, there was even a panel for it at Gallifrey One, where a lot of the information for the webseries was announced. The panel had a dramatic reading from the first episode along with a slideshow of the history of "Inspector Spacetime." Stephen Fry, Steve Carell, and Christopher Lee were all announced as past Inspectors, just as there are many incarnations of The Doctor. It is funny and amazing that a character who literally had a few seconds here and there on another show has gathered such a passionate following. I can't wait to see what's in store for this webseries!
